It is possible to export IDdb search results from a database SmartSheet to Microsoft Excel
versions 97 and 2000. You can export up to 2500 results at one time. Once you have your results, you need to click on the button Customise Display. This opens up a new window with various options of re-sorting and displaying your results. To Export to Excel, you will need to do the following:
For Internet Explorer users:
- Under Display in, check the radio button for Browser View.
- Check the radio button for Smartsheet Export View.
- In the bottom half of the screen check the radio button for Export to Excel.
- Click on Show to automatically export the data to a new Excel spreadsheet.
For Netscape PC users:
- Under Display in, check the radio button for Browser View.
- Check the radio button for Smartsheet Export View.
- In the bottom half of the screen check the radio button for Export to Excel.
- Click on Show
- The first time you use this feature, you will need to configure Netscape to recognise Excel.
- In the pop-up window entitled unknown file type click pick app.
- In the pop-up window entitled configure external viewer click the browse button.
- Locate where Excel is installed on your computer and double click the icon.
- Choose if you want to save the spreadsheet to disk or simply open it.
- Your SmartSheet results will appear in an Excel spreadsheet.
- Once you have configured Netscape in this way, Excel will launch automatically in future.
For Netscape Macintosh users:
- Under Display in, check the radio button for Browser View.
- Check the radio button for Smartsheet Export View.
- In the bottom half of the screen check the radio button for Export to Excel.
- Click on Show
- The first time you use this feature, you will need to configure Netscape to recognise Excel.
- In the pop-up window entitled "you have started to download the file export_chart.print_chart,
of type application/x-msexcel ..." click pick app.
- Locate in the browse window where Excel is installed on your computer and double click the icon.
- Your SmartSheet results will appear in an Excel spreadsheet.
- Once you have configured Netscape in this way, Excel will launch automatically in future.
