Data are continuously collected from a wide range of sources, including:

News services
A variety of commercial information sources are scanned daily, including newswires, industry newsletters and regulatory websites.

Meetings
Around 400 scientific meetings are reported from each year by commissioned experts, and scanned in-house for new drug data. The largest of these meetings are also attended directly by Thomson Editors.

Company communications
Company interviews, press releases, websites and annual and other reports are scanned regularly. Frequent direct communication is also made with individual companies, which often yields information not yet in the public domain.

A number of journals are scanned directly, and by searching bibliographic databases over 5500 publications are monitored.
